Raspberry and flaxseed smoothie

A significant element for a balanced diet are juices and healthy drinks. You may have already noticed that on A Shiny Day we love delicious smoothies. A healthy smoothie with the right ingredients can be refreshing, stimulating with nutrients and can also lift our spirits with its beautiful color. This week I tried an out-of-this-world raspberry and flaxseed smoothie.

Flaxseed is essential for those who follow a vegan diet while raspberries help detoxify the body.

Ingredients for a glass :
  • 3 organic strawberries
  • 1 tbsp frozen raspberries
  • 3/4 of a glass of oat milk
  • 1 seedless royal date
  • 1/4 tsp. Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. flaxseed
Instructions :

Add all the ingredients in a blender and mix well.

Serve in a glass and enjoy with a metal or reusable straw.

Tips :
  • Flaxseed should be whole and not crashed. It is good to know that already crashed flaxseed sold in bags has oxidized.
  • Frozen raspberries make our juice more refreshing and we don’t need to worry about their nutritional value.
  • Of course if we want to make our own milk from oats or nuts.

Nutritional value :
  • Raspberries have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Flaxseed is rich in omega-3 fats, and can be strengthening to our digestive system.
  • Cinnamon in addition to its wonderful aroma works as an antioxidant for the body.
  • Finally, royal dates, in addition to being a wonderful natural sweetener for all our recipes, contain magnesium and vitamin B, while enhancing the good function of the intestine, thanks to their healthy sugars.
